HUNTER SAFETY (CORE) COURSE :
The Cowichan Fish and Game Association has members qualified to instruct the CORE (Conservation and Outdoor Recreation Education) course needed to attain your Hunting License. Manuals for either course can be obtained at Bucky’s Sports 171 Craig St. Duncan. Examiners encourage participants to join CFGA to learn more and practice safe gun handling.
For the local area instructors go the Links ‘n Info page on this site. Next CORE courses:
We are dairy farmers and too busy to do courses in the summer. You have two options: The online course through BC Wildlife Federation which is about $100.00 or buy a current manual for around $20.00 and study it. Either way when you are ready you can contact me and set up a date and time for testing. If you choose the manual study up to the chapter exam in each section. The supplementary information is not tested on. If you have taken your PAL course and can bring a copy of the paperwork from you PAL course to show me you will be required only to do the written exam. Written exam is $30.00 if you have to do the firearms handling/ammo ID exam as well ( no paperwork ) the cost is $50.00.
If you have any other questions feel free to contact me.
